Customer: The Wallow is a very high-quality bed and breakfast establishment situated just outside of Bury St Edmunds.
Project: Their old website had a cold feel to it, did not draw the viewer in and did not fully explain or illustrate the many selling points that they have. There were no proper image galleries to showcase the accommodation.
The site was not responsive.
Their bounce rate was high and they were not getting many bookings for the site.
Results: We added a warmer tone to the sky and organised their selling points into sensible groupings within the text (for example, rooms, breakfast, gardens). We then added colour to draw the eye, bullet points to explain each good feature and photos to back up the words.
This is a typical technique that we use when designing websites. We use a heading to state a selling point. Then we use visuals to both draw the eye and to visually back up the heading message.
We added some CSS3 image galleries into key pages to highlight the beautiful accommodation and gardens.
Verdict: The customer phoned us to say how happy they were and later told us that their bookings had gone up significantly.
